Destiney and Lakesia Built This from the Ground Up
We’re Destiney Phelps and Lakesia Anna Phelps, and we launched the truck in 2022, driven by a love of bold Southern flavors and a genuine desire to bring something special to communities around Atlanta. This wasn’t a business plan on paper first. It was a passion we carried for a long time before turning it into something real.
We wanted to create a gathering place, even if that gathering place had wheels. Food has always been the way our family brought people together, and we wanted to give our neighbors that same feeling. Building something family-owned meant we could do it on our own terms, with care, intention, and genuine hospitality. That’s what we set out to do, and it’s what keeps us going every time we pull up to a new neighborhood.
We operate under Health Permit FSP-033-007261, which means every event we cater has passed the same food safety standards the City of Atlanta requires. Lakesia holds ServSafe Certification 25529081, so you know the people handling your food are trained in safe preparation from start to finish. These aren't just numbers to us—they're the standard we hold ourselves to every single day.

We Show Up for Our Atlanta Neighbors
"Community-rooted" isn't just a tagline for us. It's where we live and work. We show up to block parties in College Park, school fundraisers in Riverdale, HOA cookouts in Jonesboro, and church gatherings throughout South Metro Atlanta. These are our neighbors, and we grew up around these streets. When we pull up, we're not just another vendor. We're folks from around the way who know how to cook. Come as you are. Destiney and Lakesia run every part of the business themselves, from prep and service to bookings and everything in between. Being women-operated isn’t something we highlight for attention. It’s simply part of who we are, how this truck runs, and something we’re proud of.
